Barcelona’s season so far has been full of ups and downs. But the club have managed to turn things back in their favour quite well since the turn of the year.

While the league title does favour Real Madrid at the moment, Barcelona have an excellent opportunity to secure qualification to the semifinal of the Champions League, as they take on Paris Saint-Germain in the QF stage next month.

Barcelona, though, would have ideally hoped to face PSG at Camp Nou, as the Catalans look to stage a massive upset in the quarterfinal stage, although that is ruled out at this point.

Barcelona to return to Camp Nou by December 2024

But, there is some good news. A recent report from Mundo Deportivo has issued an update on the Camp Nou renovation project, suggesting that Barcelona may return to the stadium by the end of this year.

As per the report, Barcelona have plans to return to Spotify Camp Nou by December 2024, with an initial seating capacity of 65,000.

This is barely 60% of the total capacity of the renovated Camp Nou, though 50% of the VIP seating will be made available as well.

Since the renovation works are being done in different phases, Barcelona cannot hope to unlock full capacity this year. But the club are serious about returning to Camp Nou by the end of 2024 and have even held discussions over a game in Christmas.

When will Camp Nou operate in full capacity?

As per MD, Barcelona fans may have to wait until 2026 to have the Camp Nou operate at full capacity.

The installation of the cover for all the stands will start by the end of this year, but the project won’t be completed until August 2025.

Barcelona will have 90% capacity at Camp Nou sometime during the 2025/26 campaign.
