Barcelona are eager to bring in Marcus Rashford from Manchester United in the ongoing winter transfer window.
The 27-year-old forward is out of favour at Old Trafford and is destined for the exit doors and the Blaugrana have positioned themselves as a candidate to bring him in on a loan deal until the end of the season.
While Rashford is understood to be keen on the move, the operation has been held up as Barça first need to offload a player to free up salary space for any new signings.
Amidst this, the England forward is attracting strong interest from elsewhere, with one of his former managers keen on taking him to Turkey.
Ole Gunnar Solskjaer wants Rashford at Besiktas
Indeed, as per reports relayed by Mundo Deportivo, Ole Gunnar Solskjaer, now the manager of Besiktas, is eager to strengthen his squad by bringing in Rashford amid interest from Barcelona.
The Norwegian manager, who previously coached the attacker at Manchester United, is keen to reunite with the English winger at his new team.
The report further indicates that signing Rashford would be a challenging task for the Turkish outfit, but Solskjaer is prepared to personally get involved in an effort to convince the player to join his side.
Barcelona trying
Barcelona are aware of Rashford’s intentions and are conscious of the fact that the player is open to the possibility of wearing the club’s colours.
This follows a meeting on Tuesday in Lisbon between Barcelona’s sporting director, Deco, and Arturo Canales, a representative of Manchester United in the matter.
However, for Barça to seriously consider a loan move for the Englishman, they first need to facilitate the departure of Ansu Fati.
However, the La Masia forward recently held a meeting with Hansi Flick and made it clear that he intends to continue fighting for a place in the Barcelona team.
With the Blaugrana ruling out the departure of Eric Garcia as well, they are running out of ways to create the space required to bring Rashford in.
