Lamine Yamal has undoubtedly been one of the biggest breakout stars of the season, becoming a mainstay for FC Barcelona despite being just 16 years old.
The teenage wonderkid made his first-team debut as a 15-year-old last season but has enjoyed a proper breakthrough in the current campaign.
Now a regular for Barcelona as well as the Spanish national team, Yamal has seen his stock go through the roof with club president Joan Laporta even confirming that they rejected offers of €200 million for him.
Transfer value continues to rise
Now, the CIES Football Observatory has come forward with data that highlights the meteoric rise in transfer value that Lamine Yamal has gone through.
As per CIES Observatory, Yamal tops the list of players under the age of 23 who have experienced the highest increase in transfer value over the past six months.
During the period under consideration, the Barcelona wonderkid’s transfer value, estimated according to the CIES Football Observatory statistical model, has risen by a mammoth €134 million, going from €11 million to €145 million.
Benfica’s Joao Neves (+€72 million) and Girona’s Savio (+€70 million) occupy the second and third places on the list.
Yamal tops the list ahead of some other special talents like Endrick, Warren Zaire-Emery, Alejandro Garnacho, Cole Palmer, Florian Wirtz, and Jeremy Doku, among others.
This comes after Yamal’s market value on Transfermarkt also experienced a huge boost, rising up to €75 million in last month’s update from not having been assigned any value a year ago because of his age.
All this is indicative of the growth that Yamal has experienced in a short period of time as well as the quality and potential that he possesses. Only sky is the limit for the La Masia sensation.
