Barcelona enjoyed a stunning 4-0 victory over bitter rivals Real Madrid at the Santiago Bernabeu, riding on second-half goals from Robert Lewandowski (x2), Lamine Yamal, and Raphinha.
After a rather close first half, Barça were unleashed in the second period and tore the Real Madrid team to shreds.
While most home supporters accepted their team’s inferiority on the day, there were some fans present at the Santiago Bernabeu who were unable to digest what was going on and took to insulting opposition players with racist slurs.
Lamine Yamal faces racist abuse
Indeed, videos have surfaced depicting how Barcelona teenage sensation Lamine Yamal was subjected to racist abuse by some Real Madrid fans at the Santiago Bernabeu.
The deplorable episode occurred immediately after the young Barcelona star’s goal. The winger ‘introduced’ himself to the Bernabeu with an iconic celebration, pointing at his name on the back of his shirt, that deeply displeased the Madrid fans in that section of the stands.
Multiple videos captured some supporters shouting racist and xenophobic slurs at the 17-year-old La Masia sensation.

This is yet another demonstration that Spanish football still has a long way to go in addressing this issue.
It remains to be seen whether Real Madrid or La Liga will address this serious racist incident and take action.
