Djurgardens midfielder Lucas Bergvall is attracting attention from a host of clubs across Europe, including Manchester United, but Barcelona are leading the race to sign the teenage sensation.

The 17-year-old has already established himself in the Djurgardens side and earned his first cap for Sweden, coming off the bench in a friendly win over Estonia earlier this month.

Transfer expert Fabrizio Romano told CaughtOffside that up to 15 clubs have shown an interest in the teenage star, including Manchester United, although there has been no firm move from the Red Devils.

The two teams that have begun talks over a move for Bergvall are Barcelona and Eintracht Frankfurt, with Romano reporting that Barca will ‘push again in the next days.’

The first move from the Spanish giants was confirmed last month when the Swedish side’s sporting director said negotiations had begun.

‘Yes, I can confirm that we have been in contact and talking with Barcelona. But in my world, it’s still not a negotiation. There was some contact with Barcelona last week. But this week we have not spoken to them,’ Bo Andersson said in December, via Mundo Deportivo.

The likes of Manchester City, Brighton and Juventus have all been linked with the youngster as well, so the decision will ultimately come down to the player.

Djurgardens are asking for around £8m for their teenage talent, who says he has no idea where he will be playing next season.

‘I know there is a lot of speculation, but I’m trying to focus on the national team and I’m happy to be here for the January tour,’ said Bergvall.

‘Now I’m a Djurgarden player. I am proud that my club is asking for so much money. But Djurgarden and my agents will take care of that. I don’t know where I will play next season.’
