FC Barcelona have made a clear decision regarding the future of Ferran Torres: the Spanish forward is expected to be one of the main departures in the summer transfer window next year, reports Fichajes.

Inconsistency the reason

Despite high expectations, Torres has failed to establish himself as a key player in the team, raising concerns among both the sporting management and coaching staff.

Since his arrival from Manchester City in the winter window of 2022, the Spanish forward’s performances have been inconsistent at best.

Although he has shown flashes of quality, Torres has never managed to deliver the consistency expected of him.

However, it must be noted that constant changes in tactical schemes and fierce competition for a starting spot have not helped his situation.

Irrespective of that, the former Valencia man’s lack of progress has led Deco, the club’s sporting director, to consider his departure to free up space and resources for other signings.

Torres’ asking price around €25 million

The report states Barcelona are now ready to listen to offers for the player in the next summer transfer window. It is speculated that the asking price could be around €25 million, a reasonable figure considering his experience and still-promising future.

However, the Catalan giants are aware that his market value has decreased since his arrival, making it crucial to find a team willing to bet on his potential.

Ferran, for his part, has always maintained that he intends to succeed at Barcelona. Currently out with an injury, the 24-year-old forward has managed just one goal and two assists from ten games in all competitions.

As such, the Valencian forward could benefit from a change of scenery that would allow him to regain the confidence and prominence he lost at Barça.
