Both Barcelona and Real Madrid are always alert to the special young talents coming up in Spain or outside.

The two behemoths of La Liga have gone to battle for players like Pablo Torre, Endrick, and Arda Guler in recent times and could be poised for another tug-of-war.

Barcelona, Real Madrid interested in Fer Lopez

Indeed, according to journalist Rodra P, Barcelona and Real Madrid are following Celta Vigo midfielder Fer Lopez, who could be on his way out this summer.

Lopez, 20, is a central midfielder who came up through the youth ranks at Celta Vigo and has made 34 appearances for the Galician outfit’s B team, scoring seven goals and setting up three more.

The young Spaniard was a key presence for Celta B last season as they made it as far as the promotion playoffs.

The report further adds that Italian giants Juventus, too, have taken a keen interest in the young midfielder’s signing this summer, along with Barcelona and Real Madrid.

Fer Lopez’s contract expires in 2025

Lopez, who is yet to make his first-team debut for Celta Vigo, has a contract with the club that expires in 2025 and has a €10 million release clause.

Celta, for their part, are working hard to renew their academy gem with the plan being that he trains with the first-team setup next season and gets chances if the manager believes he is ready.

But with more and more clubs knocking on the doors, an exit would seem possible in which scenario Celta will point towards his €10 million buyout clause.

As far as Barcelona are concerned, Lopez could be seen as an option to reinforce the Barça Atletic squad, who will lose some players this summer, through promotion to first team or exits.

Given his promise and potential, the young Spaniard could prove to be a handy investment.
