Given their financial situation, Barcelona are aware that they need to make at least one huge sale in the summer transfer window.

And one of the players who might be shown the exit doors is Brazilian winger Raphinha. The 27-year-old is someone who is attracting strong interest from several quarters and can fetch a big sum for his services.

Saudi Arabia table mammoth offer

In fact, Joaquim Piera of SPORT reports that Barcelona have received a mammoth offer from Saudi Arabia for Raphinha this week.

The 27-year-old is seen as a key target by the Middle-East nation for the summer due to the fact that he plays for a top club in Europe, is a regular for his national team, and is in his prime years.

The report suggests that the big-four of Saudi Arabia, Al-Hilal, Al-Nassr, Al-Ittihad, and Al-Ahli would all be eager to land Raphinha in the summer.

As such, Barcelona have received a massive offer for the Brazilian international this week. In fact, the transfer price that they are willing to pay would far exceed the valuation made by Barça for the 27-year-old, which was €80 million.

It should be remembered that Raphinha joined Barça in 2022 from Leeds United for €57 million and signed for five seasons, two of which will be amortised on 30 June. His current salary is around €5.5 million net per season.

The Barcelona sporting management have previously maintained that they had no intention of selling Raphinha. The Catalans had ignored all the offers that had come in during the summer and in January.

For now, there has been no response from the Blaugrana, which is logical considering that the season is entering its decisive phase.

Regardless of the sporting performance and achievements of Xavi Hernandez’s team until the end of the season, Barça are aware that they will have to make more than one major sale next summer.

Raphinha, though, has remained firm in his position to continue wearing the Blaugrana jersey. Whenever he has the opportunity, he reaffirms that his desire is to one day win the Champions League with the Catalans.

But the club’s financial situation and the lucrative offer from Saudi Arabia could change things.
