Journalist Fabrizio Romano has revealed that three major European clubs—Lille, Rennes, and PSV Eindhoven—have officially made offers to sign Mikayil Faye. Interestingly, all of these proposals include sell-on and buy-back clauses.

This news follows uncertainty surrounding Faye’s future at Barcelona, particularly after it became clear that he is not part of coach Hansi Flick’s plans for the upcoming season.

Although Faye initially showed promise, he has been unable to convince Flick that he is ready to join the first team.

As a result, Barcelona are actively exploring options that could see Faye leave the club. This has sparked interest from several top clubs, with Lille, Rennes, and PSV making official bids to secure his services.

Faye has recognized that leaving Barcelona might be the best decision for his career at this stage. While it is a tough decision, he seems prepared for the possibility of moving on to a new club where he might have a better chance to develop and gain more playing time.

Among the clubs vying for Faye’s signature, Rennes have reportedly made a significant offer to Barcelona worth €11 million in fixed fees

Rennes’ proposal also includes clauses for a potential future sell-on fee and a buy-back option, which would allow Barcelona to re-sign Faye if he performs well at his new club.

This is important for Barcelona, as they are keen on maintaining some level of control over Faye’s future, believing that he has the potential to develop into a top player, whether as a centre-back or full-back.

However, the situation remains fluid, as Lille and PSV are also strongly interested in Faye, which could lead to a bidding war.

Such a scenario could be beneficial for Barcelona, as it might drive up the transfer fee, giving them more resources to reinvest in their squad.

As things stand, Barcelona are waiting for Faye to make his decision on which club he prefers to join. They are in the final phase of negotiations, and the ball is now in Faye’s court.
