Barcelona are working on closing the departures of first-team stars like Ilkay Gundogan and Vitor Roque, with the former set to join Manchester City and the latter poised to move to Real Betis on loan.

At the same time, the Catalan giants are on the verge of finalising the sale of a young talent from La Masia.

Albert Navarro headed to Atalanta

Indeed, according to Jijantes, Barcelona teenage left-back Albert Navarro is on the cusp of completing a permanent transfer to Serie A giants Atalanta.

Navarro, 17, has been at La Masia since 2015 when he joined from the CF Damm academy.

The youngster rose through the ranks at the club and was promoted to the Juvenil A setup last season despite being 17 years old.

Navarro made five appearances in the UEFA Youth League for the Under-19 side while also making it to the Barça Atletic matchday squad on several occasions without making a debut.

He was even called up to first-team training back in January by former manager Xavi Hernandez.

The teenage defensive gem has a contract with Barcelona that runs until the summer of 2026 but is now set to complete a transfer to Atalanta.

As per the report, Navarro is already in Italy to complete the move which will see Barcelona pocket a fee of €2 million.

The Blaugrana will not have a repurchase clause for the young left-back but have managed to secure a future sell-on percentage.

Navarro’s impending exit will be another notable exit from La Masia this summer following the departure of Andrea Natali, who signed for German champions Bayer Leverkusen earlier in the summer.
