Barcelona are gearing up for an active summer transfer window, exploring numerous options to bolster their squad. However, to facilitate new signings, they recognize the necessity of offloading players from their current roster.

While the team boasts several loaned-out players who could fetch substantial sums, there’s a growing consensus that sacrificing a member of the first team may be unavoidable.

In recent weeks, much discussion has centred around Raphinha, a player who has sparked divided opinions among Barcelona fans.

Sporting performance-wise, the Brazilian international has demonstrated his worth for a spot in the squad. However, from a financial standpoint, his contract extending until 2027 renders him the most lucrative asset for the team.

Raphinha is for sale

According to a report from SPORT, Raphinha has been put on the market by Barcelona along with several other players from the squad.

For what it is worth, he has already been offered in England, but there have not been any takers willing to meet Barça’s asking price of over €80 million.

This is why the solution might lie in Saudi Arabia, where they could potentially meet that figure. Consequently, key agents have begun working on the deal to fulfil the club’s requirements, even though they haven’t secured the player’s agreement yet.

He feels unsupported

Raphinha, valued at €50 million, is aware that since day one, he has been met with disapproval. He never gained full support from the fans, the management, or even the media. From the moment he stepped in, he felt isolated, lacking the backing needed to showcase his true abilities.

While his debut campaign was decent enough, he has lost his place in the first team this season and the club is focused on either recouping their investment, reducing debt, or bringing in a player who can significantly improve the team.

At 25, he knows he still has a promising career ahead, whether at Barcelona or elsewhere, however, conflicting priorities and financial considerations might limit his options.

Raphinha is poised to become one of the summer’s biggest transfer sagas, given his potential value to Barcelona. His future remains uncertain, and only time will tell how things unfold.
