Barcelona’s €60 million-rated ace determined to succeed despite competition

Barcelona midfielder Dani Olmo is determined to carve out a successful career at the club, despite the fierce competition he faces in the midfield, reports MARCA. 

Olmo’s journey since rejoining Barcelona this summer has not been without challenges. Initially, he found himself sidelined due to registration issues, which prevented him from contributing to the team. 

After finally making his debut, he suffered an injury just three matches into his return, further complicating his efforts to establish himself in the squad.

The excitement surrounding Olmo’s signing was understood, particularly because Barcelona was struggling with injuries to key players like Frenkie de Jong, Gavi, and Fermin Lopez. 

This situation offered Olmo a direct opportunity to secure a starting position in the lineup. However, as other players returned from injury, the landscape changed, and Olmo found himself in a more competitive environment than before. 

The luxury of guaranteed playtime that he initially enjoyed has diminished, presenting a new set of challenges.

With a contract extending until June 2030, he embraces the challenges that come with professional football. His return from injury is being managed carefully, and he is gradually working his way back into the coach’s plans. 

Hansi Flick recognizes Olmo’s potential, especially his versatility, which could be a valuable asset as he seeks to reclaim his spot in the starting XI.

For now, it can be argued that the season is still in its early stages and with numerous matches ahead, there will be ample opportunity for Olmo to earn his place in the team.
