Pedri is one of many Barcelona players struggling with injuries heading into the new season. The midfielder unfortunately picked up a knock during the Euro 2024 quarterfinal against Germany, which saw him miss the rest of the tournament.

Pedri was initially ruled out for a period of six weeks, but recent reports indicate the midfielder is going through a speedy recovery.

Pedri to be back by mid-August

A recent report from Toni Juanmarti has offered a fresh update on Pedri’s fitness, suggesting he could be back in action soon after the season starts.

It appears Pedri is working hard to be available as soon as possible. He is desperate to return to action, knowing he could play a pivotal role in Hansi Flick’s system.

The Catalans are dealing with limited options in the midfield unit, especially with Frenkie de Jong and Gavi also nursing from injuries.

The return of Pedri, to that end, could go a long way in boosting Barça’s creative unit, which will otherwise rely too heavily on Lamine Yamal.

Barcelona are trying to rope in Nico Williams to add more spark to the creative department. But acquiring the services of the Spanish international could prove to be tricky, with Athletic Club not willing to offload the player on a cut-price deal.

Not to mention, Barcelona may also be required to sell at least one of their star players if they are to acquire the services of Nico.

Hansi Flick, therefore, will be desperate to have Pedri back in action as soon as possible, as he looks to have a full-strength eleven going into the new season.
