Raphinha has been a revelation since the appointment of Hansi Flick. He has built a formidable partnership with Lamine Yamal, Robert Lewandowski and Lamine Yamal this season, making Barcelona the most effective attacking team in Europe.

The Barcelona star was in focus during the international week as well, starring in Brazil’s 4-0 win over Peru with two goals.

Overall, Raphinha has been involved in 12 goals in just 11 competitive matches, but his performances have been about much more than just his productivity.

As far as Barcelona’s previous records are concerned, only Xavi Hernandez was able to surpass Raphinha’s tally at this stage of the season. He did it back in 2008/09 when he created 34 chances in just 11 league matches.

The fact that Raphinha has been able to reach the numbers of a prime Xavi is enough to indicate that the forward is having the season of his career.

Raphinha’s solid showing have improved the performances of everyone around him, which is why Barcelona have emerged as the most lethal attacking team in Europe, with 28 goals scored in just 11 games.

Of those 28 goals, Raphinha has been directly involved in nine, netting five goals and providing four assists.

The onus is now on the forward to maintain his stellar run, as Barcelona not only look to retain their position at the top of the league table but also compete with the top dogs in Europe in the Champions League.
