Excitement is building at Barcelona as the team gears up for the new season under the leadership of Hansi Flick.

The Blaugrana return to training this coming Wednesday, July 10, and a recent report from Mundo Deportivo has revealed the plan for the first week under their new manager.

Rigorous training and medical tests

Player fitness will be a key theme in Barcelona’s first week in pre-season. Wednesday and Thursday mornings will be dedicated to medical check-ups, ensuring everyone is in good health before hitting the pitch.

The afternoons, however, will be a different story. Flick has scheduled the first training sessions for both Wednesday and Thursday, allowing players to ease back into the rhythm of competition.

Things ramp up on Friday, July 12 as Flick will introduce a double training session, pushing the players with both morning and afternoon workouts.

This intense session will likely focus on building stamina and tactical drills. Saturday offers a brief respite with a single training session scheduled for the morning.

Sunday, July 14, will see the week come to a close with another double training session. By the end of the week, the players will have completed a total of seven sessions under Flick’s guidance.

This rigorous schedule serves as a reminder of Hansi Flick’s focus on player fitness and mentality under his new regime.

This is also a massive pushback against the previous regime, which was accused of having a relatively laid-back approach to training and preparation.

Following this rigorous week, Barcelona will remain at the Ciutat Esportiva Joan Gamper until July 28. This period will be dedicated to further training and team building before the squad heads to the United States for their pre-season tour.
