Barcelona’s top transfer target decides his next move – inner circle informed

In an interesting turn of events, it has been learned that Nico Williams has already decided where he will play next season, reports MARCA. 

The outlet suggests that he has shared his decision with those close to him and is not considering the numerous offers he has received. His choice is firm and final.

Last year, Nico renewed his contract with Athletic Bilbao and during this renewal process, he turned down an offer from Aston Villa, who were ready to pay his termination clause and significantly increase his salary. 

Despite the tempting offer, Nico chose to stay with Athletic Bilbao, showing his loyalty and commitment to the club.

This summer, Nico has become a hot topic in the transfer market. His game has reached new heights, and his influence extends beyond the football field, especially on social media. 

He has been linked with Barcelona since the start of the Euros, and rumours about his potential move to the club have been circulating widely.

Athletic Bilbao still hope to keep Nico and want him to renew his contract, offering a salary increase. However, Nico’s inner circle is aware of his decision, although he maintains a low profile and avoids making any risky statements.

Amidst all this, Barcelona remain calm confident that if another club were willing to pay more for Nico, the deal would have already been completed. 

This is because the process of activating a player’s release clause is complex. The player himself must pay the release clause, with the purchasing club, in this case, Barcelona, providing the funds. 

Once Nico deposits this amount with La Liga, he will be free to sign with Barcelona.

In this scenario, Athletic Bilbao would have no say in the matter and would only observe the process. If Nico decides to join Barcelona, he will do so, regardless of other clubs’ offers. 

For instance, even if Paris Saint-Germain offer him more money, he will not move if he does not want to. The decision ultimately lies with the player, and his willingness to pay the release clause is crucial for the transfer to happen.
