Barcelona forward Ferran Torres proved his worth once again as he guided the Blaugrana to the Copa del Rey final with a crucial goal against Atletico Madrid.

In a tense and fiercely contested second leg of the semi-final, Torres’ strike secured a narrow 1-0 victory, ensuring Barcelona’s progression to the final, where they will face their arch-rivals, Real Madrid.

Speaking after the match, he noted that it was nothing short of a battle, with both sides displaying immense determination and intensity.

“The game was a war, there was a final at stake. We did everything we could, and it was in our hands to get the victory and secure that place in the final,” he began saying as quoted by Mundo Deportivo.

“The goal was the result of perseverance, work, and belief,” Torres stated, clearly satisfied with his contribution to Barcelona’s success.

Despite Barcelona’s impressive form and their unbeaten record against Real Madrid this season, Torres remains cautious, acknowledging the unpredictable nature of a one-off final.

“There are no favourites in the final. It’s a single game, and we have to give it our all. But what’s certain is that we are going to give it our all, and with the fans, we are sure to achieve it,” he affirmed with conviction.

Thanking Lamine Yamal

Torres also took a moment to express his appreciation for his teammate, Lamine Yamal, who provided the assist for his decisive goal.

The understanding between the two was evident, showcasing the chemistry that has been steadily building within the squad.

While the dressing room was understandably jubilant following the hard-fought victory, Torres emphasised the importance of maintaining focus and recovery ahead of the final.

“It’s not every day you reach a final, but you have to focus on recovery now. A final is already beautiful; imagine it against your closest rival.

“It’s not the time to think about it now, but the day it comes will be incredibly exciting,” he concluded.
