Barcelona’s recent 3-1 victory over Espanyol in the Catalan Derby marked an impressive milestone for the team, as it brought their goal count to a remarkable 50 goals this season.

This achievement was reached in only 15 games, a feat even the legendary trio of Lionel Messi, Luis Suarez, and Neymar could not accomplish in their time together at the club.

Leading the charge this season under Hansi Flick is Robert Lewandowski, who has netted an astonishing 17 goals so far, setting a strong foundation for the team’s offence.

Young talent Lamine Yamal has also been making waves with six goals, while Raphinha has added another 11 to the team’s tally.

Together, these three players alone have contributed 34 of the team’s 50 goals, underscoring their critical roles in Barcelona’s attacking strategy.

A look at Barcelona’s numbers

In La Liga, Barcelona have scored a total of 40 goals, marking it as one of the most productive starts in their history.

The only better record dates back to the 1950-51 season when the team scored even more within the first 12 league games.

Flick’s men have consistently scored two or more goals in nearly every match, with only one exception—a narrow 1-0 win against Getafe at home.

Barcelona have delivered multiple high-scoring performances, with substantial wins over several La Liga opponents.

Teams like Valladolid (7-0), Girona (4-1), Villarreal (5-1), Alaves (3-0), Sevilla (5-1), Real Madrid (4-1), and Espanyol (3-1) have all felt the impact of Barça’s intense goal-scoring drive.

In the Champions League, the team has added 10 more goals to their season total, averaging three goals per game.

Notable victories include a 5-0 win against Young Boys and a 4-1 win over Bayern Munich, with only a single defeat to Monaco (2-1), where they still managed to score. Interestingly, Barcelona have a total of nine different goalscorers this season.

Reaching the 50-goal mark in just 15 games is a significant improvement from their previous best in the 2016-17 season, where it took them 17 games to achieve the same tally.
