After having failed to convince RB Leipzig with their initial offers for Dani Olmo, FC Barcelona are now set to change the terms of their bid in the hope of reaching an agreement, reports Fabrizio Romano.

As has already been established by now, Olmo, 26, is a priority target for Barcelona, more so with the deal for Nico Williams stalling.

An agreement over a six-year contract with the footballer is already in place but negotiations with RB Leipzig have not gone smoothly.

Important meeting scheduled

Olmo and his agents landed in Leipzig on Monday after the player’s vacation following a successful UEFA Euro 2024 campaign, with Barcelona director Deco also said to have travelled to Germany.

A meeting is scheduled between the Bundesliga club and the Spanish international’s representatives as well as Deco as all parties try and reach an agreement.

Leipzig have already knocked back two offers from Barcelona, seeking a larger fixed transfer fee of around €60 million as well as upfront payment instead of instalments like the Catalans have been proposing.

As such, the Blaugrana intend to alter the terms of their offer in the meeting in the hope that they can convince RB Leipzig and finalise the operation at the earliest possible.

Deco & co. are under pressure to close the deal after having made a slow start to the transfer window and with the Nico Williams operation seemingly stalling, Barcelona are eager to land Olmo soon.

Whether their latest offer is good enough for RB Leipzig or the Bundesliga outfit continues to hold out for a more improved proposal will be interesting to see as the transfer saga drags on.
