Barcelona and Real Madrid have been warring on and off the field for ages now, with the latter seemingly having the upper hand this season.
Not only did Barcelona fail to beat Real Madrid in each of the three El Clasico encounters this season, but they are seemingly being outdone in the transfer market as well.
The Catalans lost to their arch-rivals in the race to sign Arda Guler last summer and are now set to face defeat in pursuit of a prodigious talent.
Aliaksei Mayorau prefers Real Madrid over Barcelona
Indeed, as per MARCA, Barcelona are set to miss out on the signing of 12-year-old prodigy Aliaksei Mayorau, who is leaning towards a move to Real Madrid.
Mayorau, a footballer of Belarusian origins, has been playing in Spain for some time with Cerdanyola. Even though he still plays seven-a-side football, the young talent has been making all the right noises.
Top clubs like Barcelona and Real Madrid, and a few more from Europe, have taken note of the 12-year-old’s precocious talent and potential.
The Blaugrana have been making all efforts to convince the youngster and his family that his future lies in Barcelona.
In fact, the Catalans even invited the 12-year-old and his family to the Montjuic Stadium to watch a match.
However, Mayorau and his entourage have already made their decision and prefer a move to Real Madrid over Barcelona.
While Mayorau may be slipping out of their hands, Barça have been making some interesting youth signings in the form of 14-year-old Alvaro Gomez and Byron Mendoza, among others.
