After a long wait, FC Barcelona finally reached a full agreement with a lucrative new long-term contract with Nike which will help the club address their Financial Fair Play issues to some extent.
However, even the multi-million deal with the sporting goods giants is not enough for Barça to return to the 1:1 rule ahead of the January transfer window.
It puts the registrations of summer signings Dani Olmo and Pau Victor in jeopardy as they were enrolled in La Liga only until December 31 by using the long-term injuries of Ronald Araujo and Andreas Christensen.
Complete calmness in the Barcelona camp
Reports earlier in the month had suggested that there was some concern growing at the club about the registration issues.
“Dani Olmo is registered until 31 December. If Barcelona do not manage to generate registration capacity, he will not be registered on 1 January,” was the clear and concise statement made by Javier Gomez, La Liga’s Corporate General Manager, at the end of August.
But, MARCA now reports that both Dani Olmo and Pau Victor are ‘super calm’ about their registration, as is manager Hansi Flick.
Both the stars blindly trust the Blaugrana to address the matter and ensure their registration in La Liga without any problems.
The options to secure the two players’ registration in La Liga are either through the transfer of players in the upcoming winter transfer window or the entry of extraordinary income – with the club searching for new investors for the Barça Vision deal.
As things stand, both Olmo and Pau Victor, as well as Flick, are confident that Joan Laporta’s board will once again resolve the situation.
