Ilkay Gundogan is facing a few crucial days ahead as he looks to finalise his next destination as he closes in on an exit from Barcelona.

The German has received proposals from Qatar, Turkey and Saudi Arabia, but he is particularly keen about a return to England.

The player, in fact, is awaiting further clarity on his future, as Barcelona look to seek agreement with Manchester City and other interested parties.

Gundogan’s entourage is in Manchester

In the midst of uncertainty, Gundogan’s agents have already landed in Manchester to talk about the terms of his potential return to Man City.

Pep Guardiola has recently spoken to the player and both are optimistic about the idea of Gundogan’s return to Etihad.

However, in order to sign Gundogan, Man City must seek an agreement with Barcelona, considering the fact that the midfielder’s contract at the club do not expire until 2026.

As per Victor Navarro, the two clubs must seek an agreement that will allow Gundogan to return to Manchester on a free transfer.

Although Barcelona might not receive any transfer fee for the German, the player’s exit could help them reduce their wage bill significantly and thus help their FFP margins.
