FC Barcelona striker Robert Lewandowski expressed optimism ahead of the Spanish Super Cup final against Real Madrid, set to take place this Sunday in Jeddah.
Barcelona enter the match in good form following a strong start to 2025, having thrashed UD Barbastro in the Copa del Rey Round of 32, before seeing off Athletic Club in the Spanish Super Cup semi-final earlier this week.
However, Lewandowski emphasised that the team still has room for improvement in certain areas to secure the title while also needing some luck on their side.
“We have incredible potential, but mentality is key. To win every game, we also need a bit of luck,” the striker stated, as quoted by SPORT.
Despite suffering a contusion during the semi-finals, the Polish forward confirmed that he would be ready for Sunday’s Clasico showdown.

Reflecting on Barcelona’s 4-0 victory in the first league Clasico of the season, he acknowledged that Real Madrid remains a formidable opponent.
“They have incredible players. Sometimes they do not control the game, but they know how to wait for their moment to strike. We have to be prepared for that,” he said.
Barcelona will fight for their first trophy of the season and the first of the Hansi Flick era, with Lewandowski determined to lift the Super Cup for a second time.
The Pole will likely be paired up with Raphinha and Lamine Yamal in attack on Sunday and will be hoping to lead his team to the silverware.
