Over the past few weeks there has been a lot of speculation surrounding the future of FC Barcelona superstar Robert Lewandowski.
The 35-year-old, who signed for the Blaugrana in 2022, has a contract that runs until 2026, although the final year of the deal is optional and depends on the number of matches he plays in the 2024/25 season.
Saudi Arabia have long admired Lewandowski and want to sign him this summer, with an unnamed club from the Middle Eastern nation even offering an enormous €100 million contract.
On top of that, Barcelona’s La Liga rivals Atletico Madrid were said to be interested in the veteran, with talks of him entering a possible swap deal involving Joao Felix doing the rounds.
Lewandowski wants to stay
Bringing an update on Lewandowski’s situation, journalist Florian Plettenberg states that the ace striker has decided to stay at Barcelona and is not at all entertaining the possibility of a summer transfer.
The former Bayern Munich superstar has gone on the record multiple times that he is happy at Barcelona and feels settled in the city with his family.
After a lean patch, the 35-year-old is back in form as well and has been scoring goals regularly in recent weeks.
As such, Lewandowski is eager to stay at Barcelona this summer and is not thinking about an exit at this point.
Apart from Saudi Arabia and Atletico Madrid, other European teams are also said to be monitoring Lewandowski as per the report from Plettenberg.
However, the veteran striker is not looking for a change of scenery right now and has even reportedly rejected the €100 million proposal from Saudi.
