Robert Lewandowski has been one of the top performers for Barcelona in the new season, racking up four goals in four matches.

The Pole’s goalscoring exploits have been key in helping the Catalans enjoy a perfect start to the campaign.

It appears Lewandowski is finally getting back to his best form under the leadership of Hansi Flick.

But one must also credit the player’s commitment, as he had trained very hard in order to get back into form, even before Barcelona’s pre-season campaign.

Lewandowski trained in Mallorca

In fact, Cade Paguera de Mallorca president Juanjo Moral has recently revealed that the Barcelona forward had trained individually in the club’s facilities just before the pre-season.

“A person close to him asked me if we could open the pitch for him to train alone. I spoke to the board of directors and we let him train behind closed doors,” he told Que Thi Jugues (h/t SPORT).

“The condition was that it was closed and that the children were not to step on the grass while he was training,” he added.

Upon learning the player in question was Lewandowski, Moral was positively surprised. He even described how the Pole used to train.

“At 8 in the morning, he started training, showered and left. He posted his training on the networks and we screwed up because it wasn’t as intimate as he thought. Outside there were children waiting to take photos, but they behaved very well,” he said.

Moral went on to express his happiness and pride at Lewandowski’s training at Cade Paguera de Mallorca’s facilities. He also joked that he wouldn’t have allowed any Real Madrid player to train.

“I didn’t think it was a joke because they told me he was a Barça footballer, but they didn’t tell me his name. If Florentino had called we would have told him that the field was closed,” Moral said.

“We offered him everything he asked for: balls, spikes, small goals… If he asks me for a circus, I’ll leave him a circus. I wouldn’t let Vinicius and Mbappé in even if I was paid €2,000 a day,” he concluded.

Lewandowski’s commitment and dedication are now paying off for Barcelona as he has made a fine start to the season.
