Jorge Mendes is regarded as one of the best agents in the world of football. The Portuguese has sheer dominance in certain parts of Europe, especially Portugal and Spain.
In his native Portugal, Mendes’ agency Gestifute represents stars like Ruben Dias, Bernardo Silva and Matheus Nunes.
Mendes is quite close to Barcelona as well. He has a good relationship with Joan Laporta and in addition to Ansu Fati, he represents four Barça players including Alejandro Balde, Lamine Yamal, Joao Felix and Joao Cancelo.
Jorge Mendes close to becoming Hector Fort’s agent
A recent report from ESPN journalist Moises Llorens has now revealed that Jorge Mendes is all set to represent another Barcelona player.
The player in question is Hector Fort. It appears the Barça youngster is close to capturing the services of Mendes as his agent.

Fort has racked up five competitive appearances for Barcelona, racking up two assists. He notably assisted a second-half goal from Vitor Roque in Barça’s recent 3-1 win over Alaves.
What does the future hold for Hector Fort?
Hector Fort is still technically a Barça Athletic player, but everything suggests he will be promoted to the senior squad this summer.
The Catalans, however, may have to offer the youngster a contract renewal and a major hike in salary, as the player’s contract expires in 2025.
That is where Jorge Mendes could play a crucial role. The Portuguese super-agent would want to squeeze out the best deal from Barça, but given the club’s poor economic condition, it remains to be seen how the two parties approach this matter, this coming summer.
