According to journalist Adrian Sanchez, Barcelona forward Vitor Roque is beginning to have a sense of doubt regarding his future at the club. The reporter affirms that the January arrival thinks he will be loaned out the next summer.

Ever since arriving at the club in January, the Brazil forward has started a solitary game for Barcelona while clocking a mere 226 minutes across all competitions.

This means across the 10 matches he has played, he is averaging just 22 minutes per match.

Earlier this month, Xavi addressed questions regarding Roque’s restricted playing time and the coach elaborated that this situation stems from the circumstances surrounding the player’s arrival, coupled with the inherent competition within the squad.

“He came just after an injury, he had to get into the rhythm of the competition, the game, adapt to our system,” explained Xavi.

“Lewandowski plays as ‘9’ and in his natural position, he has not played, or very little. He is adapting to the winger position. It’s a matter of time. He can give us many things and he is already giving them to us,” he added.

Considering his situation at the club, rumours are rife that some Premier League teams, who are looking for a striker, are looking at his acquisition.

However, securing the services of the Brazilian won’t come without its challenges.

Barcelona, intent on retaining their prized asset, have locked him into a lengthy contract extending until 2031 and it would take more than a lot to let him go.

Given that Lewandowski is certain to retain his place next season, it would be difficult for Barcelona to let Roque play as much as he would want.

But for what it is worth, even a temporary exit is extremely unlikely.
