With the summer transfer window close to completion, several FC Barcelona players find themselves heading toward the exit ramp.

Leading the list of unwanted players is Vitor Roque, who struggled to secure a regular spot in the first team last season and also failed to win over coach Hansi Flick in the US pre-season tour.

Barcelona have conveyed their intentions to Roque

Now, according to Mundo Deportivo, Barcelona have already informed Vitor Roque that he needs to find a new club.

If he remains with the team, there is a significant risk that Barça will not be able to register him for the upcoming season due to their ongoing issues with the La Liga salary cap.

Despite Roque’s potential and the initial excitement surrounding his arrival, the financial constraints imposed by La Liga’s salary regulations mean the club must offload players to balance their books.

Julian Araujo is already on his way out, with the right-back set to be sold permanently to AFC Bournemouth for a fee of €10 million.

Additionally, there have been reports suggesting that Vitor Roque could follow Araujo to the English side. Interest from Serie A has been documented too.

Why are Barcelona eager to dispose of Roque?

Roque’s departure is seen as a necessary step to alleviate the wage burden and ensure compliance with league rules.

The Catalan giants do not rule out additional reinforcements in the left-wing and defensive midfield positions, but first, they must clear out the deadwood.

Furthermore, the rise of Pau Victor has deemed Roque a dispensable asset. The Spanish striker took the US pre-season tour by storm and has cemented himself as a worthy back-up to Robert Lewandowski.
