Barcelona’s attacking department is firing on all cylinders as it stands with Robert Lewandowski, Lamine Yamal and Raphinha all looking close to their best versions.
It is, thus, close to unfathomable at this point that the left-wing was a priority signing for Barcelona last summer with Nico Williams being the top target.
The Basque winger was the club’s primary transfer target for long and was said to even have agreed on the move. However, he eventually opted to stay at Athletic Club for a plethora of reasons, one of which was his brother Inaki Williams.
Inaki Williams talks about Nico
Speaking to AS in a recent interview, Athletic Club striker and Nico’s brother Inaki made a massive statement as he revealed that his younger brother did not regret missing the Barcelona train despite the pressure on him.

He then added that the young winger is very happy in the Basque country and spoke about playing with his brother in the long term.
“Nico is very happy in Bilbao and I hope we can keep playing together as long as possible.”
Finally, the striker also spoke about the chance of playing in Europe with his brother this season for that was the primary reason Nico is said to have declined a move to Catalonia.
“We are finally going to fulfill the dream of being able to play together in Europe.”
While Inaki’s interview paints a picture of Nico’s future being exclusively at Athletic Club, word has it that the player is open to a departure next summer with Barcelona once again being alert to his situation.
