Barcelona unearth another exciting talent from La Masia likened to Arsenal star

La Masia’s resurgence in recent years has seen multiple young talents rise up the ranks with Pau Cubarsi and Lamine Yamal being the most recent successes.

At just 17 years of age, the young prodigies have established themselves as ever-reliable presences on the field, a testament to Barcelona’s academy and the maturity it brings at a young age.

Yet, the factory does not cease churning out talents as SPORT brings to light a new young starlet who is quickly making a name for himself in the lower categories – Pol Bernabeu.

A special full-back

As relayed in the publication, Bernabeu is a versatile full-back who is known more for the offensive contributions he brings on the flank and is seen as one of the most talented players in the academy.

He belongs to the 2008 generation, the same as that of Toni and Guille Fernandez, and is a year younger than Yamal and Cubarsi. He is a regular in Barcelona’s Juvenil B setup but has already made his debut for Juvenil A as well.

Pol Bernabeu only recently made his debut in the Under-19 category and showed great quality, excelling on the field and proving why Barcelona’s scouts were behind him from such a young age.

While primarily a left-back, Bernabeu can also play as a midfielder or a winger as his attacking skillset is his biggest advantage on the field.

The report likens him to Oleksandr Zinchenko who plays as a full-back but is known for ball progression.

Pol eyes the first team but is still sizeably away from a place under Hansi Flick as there is still a lot he must fine-tune to his game. The biggest of them is the defensive aspect of his performances where he still lacks slightly.

But with the youngster, Barcelona have another exciting young talent from La Masia on their hands.
