Earlier today, FC Barcelona unveiled the official poster for the club’s 125th anniversary and announced some of the initial events linked to this historic milestone.
The poster, created by Balearic artist Miquel Barceló, was unveiled during the first episode of the Llotja 125 video podcast.
The event was attended by FC Barcelona president Joan Laporta, artist Miquel Barceló, Armand Carabén (commissioner of the 125th anniversary), Barça coach Hansi Flick, team captains Frenkie de Jong and Ronald Araujo, women’s team coach Pere Romeu, and forward Salma Paralluelo, among others.
During the event, Joan Laporta shared how they convinced Barceló to design the poster.
“We went to his workshop in Mallorca to persuade him,” Laporta explained. “I was moved when I saw it,” he admitted.
“Miquel is the best artist in the world, he’s a Barça fan, and we’ve had Miró (75th anniversary), Tàpies (100th anniversary), and now it was time for an artist like Barceló (125th anniversary),” Laporta said.

Regarding the artwork, Barceló explained that his idea was to capture “the associative play”. “There’s a football team inside, there are shrimp, it generates movement, it’s a continuous metamorphosis,” the Mallorcan artist detailed.
During the event, Barcelona also confirmed that on November 29th, coinciding with the exact date of the club’s 125th birthday, a special gala will be held at the Liceu, where the anniversary song will also be unveiled.
From over 500 submitted lyrics, after selecting three finalists, the winner will be announced at the Liceu.
The following day, November 30th, the ONCE lottery ticket will feature FC Barcelona’s 125th anniversary as its motif.
