Earlier this week, Barcelona’s long legal battle paid dividends as they earned a precautionary measure from the Higher Council for Sports (CSD).
CSD’s precautionary measure allowed Barcelona to re-register Dani Olmo and Pau Victor, effectively making them available for the upcoming Spanish Super Cup final against Real Madrid.
In the wake of CSD’s ruling, Barcelona defender Inigo Martinez has offered insights into how these two dealt with the situation during the registration saga.
Martinez on Olmo and Victor
“Having two players not registered is hard for them as well as for the rest. Seeing them every day was not easy,” Martinez revealed in a recent interview (h/t Mundo Deportivo).
“There was a lot of fuss around it. Nobody has more desire than them,” the defender added, ahead of the Super Cup final.
Although Victor did not have much of an option, Olmo indeed had to go through a difficult few weeks, especially amid interest from some of the top clubs across Europe.
Speaking about the Super Cup final itself, Martinez said Barcelona are ready to hurt Real Madrid.

The availability of Olmo and Victor could be a great boost for Barcelona, though it remains to be seen if either of them start against Los Blancos.
While Victor is sure to play on the bench, Olmo would make a push for the starting eleven. But with Gavi playing well in the last encounter, Hansi Flick might want to retain the same lineup which started against Athletic Club.
“We had to start 2025 well, and keeping a clean sheet in both games gives us that push,” the defender said when asked about the win over the Basque outfit.
Keeping a clean sheet will indeed be Barcelona’s top priority as the Catalans look to replicate the success of a 4-0 win over Los Blancos during the first half of the campaign.
