It has been a mixed day for Barcelona so far, which started with the grim update on the pursuit of Nico Williams.

After weeks of negotiations, the Spanish forward looks all set to continue at Athletic Club for at least another season. The news of Nico’s likely stay saw Barcelona immediately turn focus to another top target Dani Olmo.

Fabrizio Romano, in fact, suggests Barcelona have finally reached an agreement with RB Leipzig surrounding the transfer of the Spanish international, who could join the club for a fee of up to €62 million.

Barcelona’s plan to unveil Dani Olmo

Following Romano’s ‘Here we go’, El Chiringuito has come up with another set of updates on Barcelona’s deal to sign Olmo.

The Spanish news outlet confirms Barça are indeed set to sign the Leipzig attacker for a fee of €55 million, with an additional €7 million in add-ons.

Olmo looks set to sign a six-year deal at Camp Nou, as he finally looks to make his dream return to Catalonia.

As per the report, Barcelona’s plan is to complete the signing by the end of the week and have him available for the Joan Gamper Trophy clash, in front of the home supporters.

Barcelona are slated to take on AS Monaco in the Joan Gamper Trophy on August 12, at Estadi Olimpic Lluis Companys.

Although the Catalans would have ideally liked to unveil Olmo at the iconic Camp Nou, the club are not returning to the stadium at least until the end of the year.

Nevertheless, Barcelona will hope Olmo’s presentation can serve as a morale-booster for the team heading into the new season. It could be a special moment for Olmo, too, as he looks to kickstart a new chapter in his career.
