Barcelona forward Lamine Yamal has said that the Blaugrana will approach the UEFA Champions League quarter-final tie against Paris Saint-Germain exactly as they did against Napoli, aiming to qualify for the next round.

Barcelona have been pitted against the French team and the likes of Vitor Roque, Raphinha and Fermin Lopez have already had their say about the fixture.

The latest to join the fray is Yamal, who has vouched to give his best in the game in order to qualify for the last eight.

“When you reach the quarterfinals of the Champions League, all the rivals are difficult,” he was quoted by SPORT

“Against PSG we will play the same as against Napoli and we will seek to advance to the next round,” he added.

Yamal is a player with a strong mentality

Yamal’s on-field talent is next to none as he connects with the ball in a way that’s hard to describe.

So far this season, the youngster played eight games in the Champions League. In his first season with Barça’s first team, he played in the first six group stage matches and the two matches in the round of 16 against Napoli.

Meanwhile, some people might think Barcelona should be more cautious when facing players like Kylian Mbappé or Ousmane Dembelé, but Yamal has decided to stick to his plan.

“We will play as we always do, as we know how, with our game,” said the 16-year-old.

It is to be noted that if Yamal manages to score a goal against PSG, he will become the youngest player to do so in the UEFA Champions League knockout.

However, his accomplishment will truly shine if it contributes to ousting the formidable PSG squad and securing a spot in the semifinals.
