Journalist Adrian Sanchez has informed Barça Universal that Barcelona have no plans to sell Ilkay Gundogan unless he himself requests a transfer.

It must be noted that despite the financial difficulties the club is facing, which have forced them to consider significant measures, Gundogan’s future at the club is secured unless he decides otherwise.

The club’s woes have created a challenging environment, putting the futures of several key players at risk, including Gundogan.

Over recent weeks, there has been much discussion about the veteran German midfielder. The club needs to generate profit and reduce their wage bill, leading to speculation about potential player departures.

Currently, Barcelona’s primary focus is on acquiring Dani Olmo and Nico Williams. These two signings are expected to be costly, prompting the need for prominent exits to balance the finances.

Media speculation has suggested that Gundogan could be one of the players to be sacrificed in these efforts.

However, it appears that Barcelona have no immediate plans to part ways with Gundogan. His future with the team depends entirely on his own wishes.

If he requests a transfer, the club will not stand in his way. Conversely, if he chooses to stay, Barcelona will respect his decision.

The German is coming off a strong season, during which he was one of the club’s top performers. Despite his impressive contributions, there were moments of frustration for the midfielder.

Specifically, his comments on Ronald Araujo’s red card during the UEFA Champions League match against Paris Saint-Germain caused some tension within the team.

This incident created friction, highlighting Gundogan’s outspoken nature. While his forthrightness is seen positively by some, it has the potential to cause issues with teammates who might take his comments personally.

For now, it appears that the veteran’s future is in his own hands. The club will honour his wishes, whether he chooses to stay or seek a transfer.

Gundogan’s decision will be respected, ensuring that his future at Barcelona is dictated by his own desires.
