Barcelona will have to take a bunch of huge decision before the season ends, especially in context of their financial situation and the upcoming summer transfer window.

The priority will be to sell players to raise money so they can get in players that can cover over the cracks in problematic areas of the pitch, such as holding midfield or left-wing.

However, before that, Barcelona do have other problems on the table, such as looking for a new coach. While the administration want Xavi to continue as the manager, they are also in contacts with potential replacements, such as Hansi Flick.

While all this is going on, Barça also have to take a potentially history-altering decision with regards to their jerseys.

Nike-Barcelona done?

Nike have been manufacturing jerseys for Barcelona for 26 years now, and the two are often synonymous with each other.

Barça are, however, concerned about the money they are pocketing from the deal as they boast of the highest shirt sales in Europe.

Therefore, there have been a lot of talk about the contract being terminated due to potential breaches by Nike. The American brand have also taken the matter to court.

SPORT have now issued an update on the situation, claiming that Barcelona will take a decision on the situation soon.

They are set to meet with Nike to talk about the deal and the potential legal matter at hand, but it seems there is little to no hope about the American brand raising their proposal to Barcelona.

They have already submitted their final offer, which was rejected by Barça. So, unless something changes drastically now, the blaugranes and Nike will look to terminate the contract on mutual terms.

What next?

If reports are to believed, it seems Barcelona will either partner up with Hummel as a one-and-done deal for a solitary year, or make their own shirts before signing a contract with Puma starting from the 2025/26 season.

They have already spoken to the German brand about a takeover, and are more than happy with the offer that has been submitted.

However, at this point it is too late for Puma to take over and start manufacturing for next season, so there will likely be a year in between that and the Nike deal.
