It is no top secret that Barcelona need to make at least two significant sales in the summer transfer window to ease their financial woes so that they can strengthen the squad.
As such, the name of Brazilian winger Raphinha as a possible sacrificial lamb has been doing the rounds quite a bit.
The 27-year-old has not done much wrong in his two-year stint at Barcelona but the emergence of Lamine Yamal, coupled with the club’s economy, could impact his future, as he is a player who is attracting interest.
Raphinha does not want to leave
However, according to SPORT, Raphinha has no intentions of leaving Barcelona in the summer even though he has some enticing options on the table.
As per the report, the former Leeds United continues to be a wanted commodity in the Premier League, with London clubs Arsenal and Tottenham Hotspur still retaining an interest in him.
On top of that, Saudi Arabia is also keen on signing Raphinha and has tabled an offer in excess of €80 million for the Brazilian international.
Despite the exciting possibilities, Raphinha has shown no indication of wanting to leave Barcelona and remains intent on continuing at the club.
A mixed bag of a season for Raphinha
It has not been the easiest of seasons for Raphinha as a red card on the first matchday, coupled with fitness problems over the course of the campaign have somewhat mitigated his impact.
The emergence of Lamine Yamal as a reliable option has seen the Brazilian drop a peg down in the pecking order. However, he did start back-to-back crucial matches against Napoli and Atletico Madrid last week and gave a good account of himself.
In all, Raphinha has five goals and ten assists from 28 matches across competitions this season.
For now, the winger remains eager to stay but his future will be dictated by the Catalans’ economic situation come summer.
