Raphinha has been in red-hot form under Hansi Flick, playing a role that gives him more freedom to venture centrally and dictate play to his liking.
Last night, he was again the team’s best-performing player as he scored one goal and provided one assist in addition to a staggering six key passes against Young Boys in the UEFA Champions League.
With a goal and an assist last night, a brace against Villarreal, a hat-trick and an assist against Real Valladolid and an assist against Rayo Vallecano, the player has six goals and three assists to his name in just ten games this season.
At this point, there may not be a better-performing Brazilian player in world football than the Barcelona captain and he is one of the most in-form players on the planet.
The 27-year-old has played as both a left-winger and attacking midfielder this season and has delivered results from both positions, showing exceptional versatility.
“What has changed the most is the position I played. In the last two seasons, I played more on the right, but now I feel very comfortable,” he said after the game when asked what has changed this season in terms of his position.
With the likes of Dani Olmo set to return after the international break, it is clear that the player will return to the winger role in the coming games. Nevertheless, that will not dampen his importance or output in any measure given his form.
