With FC Barcelona needing at least a couple of major sales in the summer transfer window, the name of Raphinha has been doing the rounds as a possible sacrificial lamb.
The Brazilian international has had a good season, during which he has proven himself reliable, irrespective of where Xavi Hernandez has played him.
Given his performances and age, Barça believe that the 27-year-old has a good market and could fetch a significant transfer fee, leading to the club informing him about their intentions to sell him.
There is already a strong interest from Saudi Arabia, where clubs would be willing to shell out in excess of €80 million for Raphinha.
Raphinha wants to stay
However, according to a fresh update from Mundo Deportivo’s Roger Torello, Raphinha is absolutely certain about what he wants to do in the summer and that is to continue at Barcelona.
The 27-year-old Brazilian international’s priority is to stay put at the Catalan outfit as he is very happy with his situation in the team.
Furthermore, both the player and his family feel comfortable and settled in the city, which is why the former Leeds United winger wishes to remain in Barcelona beyond this season.
Raphinha could consider exit on one condition
The report, however, does mention that Raphinha might open the doors for an exit in the summer, but strictly on one condition.
The Brazilian international would only contemplate a departure from Barcelona in case he received an incredible offer, both financially and in sporting terms, but only from the Premier League.
Much like last summer, when Saudi Arabia went crazy bidding for him, Raphinha does not entertain the idea of leaving Barça for the Middle East.
Before he arrived at Barcelona, the 27-year-old attracted interest from Chelsea, Arsenal, and Tottenham. Whether any of them rekindle their interest in him this summer remains to be seen.
