Pablo Torre and Hector Fort were two notable absentees in the Barcelona squad vs AC Milan, in what was their final friendly in the US tour.

Torre was not available against AC Milan due to gastroenteritis two days before the game. This led to his absence from the Rossoneri clash.

Fort, meanwhile, was going through an injury scare as he had picked up a knock during the final of the promotion playoff with Barça Atletic. The club, therefore, made the decision to hand him a breather.

The club’s top brass are set to meet this week to discuss potential exits, as the club look to reduce the wage bill.

The young midfielder has been one of Barça’s most impressive performers during the pre-season. Another strong display against AS Monaco, to that end, could go a long way in helping him strengthen his case for being a part of the team next season.

Fort, meanwhile, is more than likely to continue at Barcelona next season and even serve as a key right-back option.

But amid reports linking Joan Cancelo with a return to Catalonia, Fort will look to seize the opportunity against AS Monaco and make a statement.
