Barcelona played their first match under new manager Hansi Flick on Thursday evening when they faced UE Olot and ended up securing a 1-0 win.

Pablo Torre, coming on as a substitute in the second period, scored the only goal of the game in which Flick got to take a look at a host of youngsters in a match situation.

Indeed, talents like Toni Fernandez, Guille Fernandez, Noah Darvich, Marc Bernal, Alexis Olmedo, and Marc Casado, among several others, all received minutes in the friendly fixture.

Mika Faye, Unai Hernandez absent

However, two young talents – Mika Faye and Unai Hernandez – were not involved for Barcelona against Olot last evening due to physical issues, reports Toni Juanmarti.

Faye, who has been tipped for a first-team promotion for the upcoming season, did not feature as he was dealing with ankle discomfort.

Meanwhile, Unai Hernandez, who was a key part of the Barça Atletic team last season, was not part of the friendly match as he was down with a fever.

While the duo might not have played last night, they both are expected to be part of the squad for the US tour and should get an opportunity to showcase their talents in the three friendlies that Barcelona will play.

Who shone for Barcelona?

While Faye and Unai did not get any minutes, some of the young talents that did feature managed to shine brightly against UE Olot.

Pablo Torre, for one, stood out with the match-winning goal while fellow midfielders Marc Casado and Marc Bernal are also said to have impressed after coming on in the second period.
