Change could be coming for Bradley Barcola in the coming weeks.

After launching its season with a big win against Le Havre (1-4) a week ago, Paris Saint-Germain will host Montpellier at the Parc des Princes on Friday evening, for the 2e Ligue 1 matchday. A match for which Luis Enrique will be deprived of Gonçalo Ramos, who injured his ankle in Normandy and is out for several weeks.

From then on, the Spanish technician has several solutions to replace his Portuguese striker: Randal Kolo Muani, Marco Asensio or Bradley Barcola. Indeed, the former Lyon player could occupy this number 9 position during the next PSG matches, as indicated by Luis Enrique.

Luis Enrique: “Barcola could play as a 9”

We play according to the spaces we have. The number 9 doesn’t usually touch the ball much and that will be even more the case in Montpellier, who should defend in their own half of the field. The 9 gives continuity, as can be the case with Asensio “, the former Barça coach first said at a press conference on Thursday.

And to add: ” We adapt to the profiles, whether it’s Ramos or Kolo Muani. Barcola could play as a 9, he occupied this position in the youth teams. I like players who are versatile.” To find out who will replace Gonçalo Ramos at the forefront of the Parisian attack, we will have to wait until Friday evening.
