Baron Corbin is thrilled to be linked to Roman Reigns’ career in a significant way.

Cody Rhodes beat Roman Reigns at WrestleMania 41. This was (and still is) the last time Reigns has lost via pinfall in WWE. Prior to that, Reigns’ last loss came against Corbin in December 2019.

The pair feuded for a large spell of 2019 and 2020. This included a series of “loser eats dog food” matches between Baron Corbin and Roman Reigns, in what wasn’t exactly a golden age of WWE, creatively speaking. During this time, Corbin picked up a huge pinfall victory over Roman Reigns. The Lone Wolf had help from FTR and Dolph Ziggler in this match, and won the bout with an End of Days onto a steel chair.

Until Rhodes finished the story at WrestleMania, Corbin laid claim to being the one man to pin Reigns. Corbin spoke with Bill Pritchard of WrestleZone and was asked how he feels about being part of history in that way.

“It’s amazing to have that,” Baron Corbin said. “And Roman elevates everybody that he’s around, whether it’s in the ring or in promos or whatever. So, to continue to have my name for so long in the same conversation as Cody, and Roman, and all the other people that fell short of beating Roman. It made me feel like I was always in the mix.”

“Even when I was in NXT, they are going, ‘Corbin’s still the only one that beat him. Maybe he’s the one that can beat Roman and take the title.’ So, it’s cool to kind of have people that think that maybe I was the guy to do it at some point. Wishful thinking on all of our parts. But it’s cool to always have your name in the mix with guys like that.” Baron Corbin added.
