Batista has gone from being a wrestler to a popular actor, known for taking on different types of roles in Hollywood. With that said, it appears he is interested in working with CM Punk on future film projects.
Before his breakthrough portrayal of Drax in Marvel’s ‘Guardians of the Galaxy,’ Batista faced significant financial struggles. However, his success as Drax propelled his career forward, leading to notable roles in films like ‘Blade Runner 2049’ and ‘Dune.’
While speaking during a recent interview with BuzzFeed Celeb, Batista, who starred in The Killer’s Game alongside Drew McIntyre, was asked about current WWE superstars with acting potential.
Batista named CM Punk as a standout actor, praising his skills and potential in the field. He noted that while Punk has impressive acting abilities, he may not fully pursue an acting career as long as he remains focused on professional wrestling. Batista expressed a desire to work with Punk in Hollywood and mentioned that Punk’s passion for both wrestling and acting could lead to great things if he ever decides to shift his focus.
“Oh, you know who I think was really overlooked as an actor, I don’t know if he hasn’t pursued it as much as he’d like to because he’s still heavily pursuing professional wrestling, but is CM Punk, Phil Brooks. His potential in acting is pretty unlimited. So, I really wanna see more from him in acting. And I’d really love to work with him, cause I think he has a passion for acting. But I think still his heart is in professional wrestling. Until he’s able to let that go a little bit, he’ll never be able to fully envelop himself in acting. But I think Phil Brooks is, he’s a great actor.”
Batista has also made it clear he wants to join the DC Universe. CM Punk clearly has experience in the world of acting, so only time will tell if he will end up joining Batista in a film project somewhere down the line.
