Bauchi gov approves renovation of 11 village heads’ palaces

The Governor of Bauchi State, Bala Mohammed, has approved the renovation and upgrade of the palaces of eleven village heads in the Dass Local Government Area of the state.

Mohammed also approved the complete renovation of the palace of the Emir of Dass, Alhaji Usman Othman, in the ongoing transformation of the traditional institutions in the state.

The Chairman of Dass LGA, Mohammed Jibo, made these known on Sunday while receiving a team of engineers on an assessment visit to the 11 village head palaces ahead of the renovation and upgrade.

He commended the governor for his efforts in providing traditional rulers in the state with a conducive atmosphere in which to operate and contribute meaningfully to the peace and development of the state.

He said, “The renovation and rehabilitation of the palaces of the first-class Emirs in the state and those of district and village heads across the state were in continuous efforts by the Governor Mohammed-led administration to provide a conducive working environment and places of abode for traditional rulers in the state.

“We sincerely appreciate Governor Bala Abdulkadir Mohammed for extending the renovation of palaces of traditional rulers in the state to Dass Local Government Area.

“This indeed is a confirmation of the high esteem Governor Mohammed holds royal fathers across the state. The governor is fully aware of the roles of our traditional rulers as custodians of their people’s customs and traditions and promoters of peace.

“We say a very big thank you to our dear governor for this gesture.”

While expressing joy over the governor’s decision to extend his kind gesture to traditional rulers in Dass LGA, the chairman informed that the governor did not hesitate to promptly approve the council’s request to renovate of 11 village head palaces in the area.

According to Jibo, the palaces to be given facelifts in his local government area were those of the village heads of Bununu Dass, Wandi, Baraza, Durr and Lukshi.

The chairman informed us that others who would benefit from the renovation were the village head of Zumbul, the village head of Polchi, the village head of Dott, and those of Bondot, Bajar, and Bagel.

On their part, all the village heads visited applauded the governor’s transformation agenda and wished him Allah’s guidance as he effectively pilots the affairs of the state.
