German police have opened a hit-and-run investigation into Matthijs de Ligt, according to Image. Witnesses told the German media that an incident took place near Säbener Straße, Bayern Munich’s headquarters, this Wednesday morning. After recognizing the Dutchman, these same people called the police.

A very embarrassing situation for Bayern and the 24-year-old defender. The Dutch international (45 caps) was in talks for a move to Manchester United in recent weeks. De Ligt has already agreed to join the Old Trafford residents. It remains to be seen whether this story could slow down the negotiations between the English club and the Bavarian club.
