Bayern Munich forward Eric Maxim Choupo-Moting would reportedly be open to a loan move to Manchester United.
The Reds need goals and there’s too much reliance on Rasmus Hojlund. The 20-year-old joined United in the summer and is currently our only recognised centre-forward due to Anthony Martial’s lack of availability.
Holjund has seven goals to his name this season, whereas Martial has only managed to score two.
In order to change United’s fortunes in front of goal, for the second half of the season, we could see the club dip back into the loan market – like they did last year by signing Wout Weghorst and Marcel Sabitzer on temporary deals.
United will need a better striker than Weghorst this time around. Someone with an eye for goal.
One name being linked with a loan switch to Old Trafford is Bayern Munich’s Choupo-Moting.
According to Seb Ecrivain Foot, United are in contact with Bayern regarding a six-month deal for the striker. The 34-year-old will be available for a cut-price lian fee and would provide depth to young Hojlund as well as the under-firing Martial.
#ManchesterUnited is in contact with #Bayern about Choupo Moting. It will be available for a minimal amount. Manchester is considering a 6-month loan to provide a solution to Ten Hag. To be continued. #Mercato https://t.co/VG7XcsGd7f

A report from Give Me Sport says the striker is favouring a switch having started just three Bundesliga games all season.
Choupo-Moting has scored three goals in 21 matches this season.
