Bayern Munich have reportedly registered their interest in Chelsea full-back Ian Maatsen.

That’s according to a recent report from Sky Sports Germany journalist Patrick Berger, who claims the Bundesliga giants have added the Dutch defender to their summer shortlist.

Currently out on loan with Borussia Dortmund after refusing to re-join Burnley following a successful season on loan with Vincent Kompany’s side, Maatsen, 22, is enjoying another fine campaign.

Familiarising himself with Germany’s top-flight, Chelsea’s Maatsen, who has started 10 league games, hasn’t looked out of place at the Signal Iduna Park Stadium.

And after putting in consistently good performances, despite being at a new club, the 22-year-old is unsurprisingly attracting some high-profile interest.

Expected to be made available but valued at least £35 million, Dortmund will find it difficult to agree to a permanent deal, and that’s where Bayern Munich could take advantage.

“Ian Maatsen on the list at FC Bayern according to Sky information,” Berger posted on his X account. “The people of Munich are watching the Dutchman and have asked about his situation.”

Unlikely to see his future at Stamford Bridge, Maatsen, whose contract expires in 2026, is set to be one of Mauricio Pochettino’s first departures.

Since being promoted to the Blues’ first team last summer, Maatsen, who has been capped 13 times for the Netherlands’ under-21s, has managed just 16 appearances in all competitions.
