Lucas Bergvall of Djurgardens is a man in demand in Europe, with a plethora of top clubs, including FC Barcelona vying for his signing in the ongoing transfer window.
The 17-year-old has already become a household name in Sweden and is widely regarded as one of the brightest prospects in Europe.
As per reports earlier in the week, Barcelona are readying an official offer to submit to Djurgardens, having received the OK from the player. But there are other suitors who are unwilling to give up on their pursuit of Bergvall yet.
As reported on Friday, Manchester United are planning talks with Bergvall’s entourage as well as his club to swoop him away. And it appears that Bayern Munich are also prepared to make a late hijack attempt.
Bayern Munich offering €9 million
Indeed, as per reports relayed by SPORT, Bayern Munich are offering a transfer fee of €9 million to Djurgardens to acquire the services of Bergvall in the ongoing window.
The Bundesliga champions believe that the balance between the midfield prodigy’s quality, physical power, and talent can complement the club’s midfield and prepared to make a move for him.
Other Bundesliga clubs like Eintracht Frankfurt and Borussia Dortmund are also pushing to sign the 17-year-old starlet.
Djurgardens seeking €15 million
However, reports earlier today suggested that Djurgardens are seeking a transfer fee of around €15 million for their midfield gem. Bayern’s offer, thus, would fall short of the price tag slapped on Bergvall.
The report from SPORT goes on to add that Barcelona were planning on offering €6 million for the youngster, which would be further away from his asking price.
As such, a final offer is yet to be tabled by the La Liga champions and it remains to be seen whether they are able to sign Bergvall for a lower sum, given that the player has his heart set on a move to Barcelona.
