This summer, Bayern Munich has already been very active in the transfer window. Third in the Bundesliga last year, the Bavarians want to react to regain their hegemony over German football and have already spent 145.4 million euros with the arrivals of Michael Olise (Crystal Palace), João Palhinha (Fulham) and Hiroki Ito (Stuttgart). Three major reinforcements for next season for the German club, which will also have to make room in its squad and get rid of certain players. For the moment, only Malik Tillman has been sold for 12 million euros to PSV Eindhoven.

With Matthijs de Ligt close to joining Manchester United and bringing in around €50 million, Bayern Munich also want to part ways with an attacking player. While Kingsley Coman has been announced as leaving as has Serge Gnabry, both men are still under contract with the Rekordmeister. Among the Bavarian wingers, only Leroy Sané seemed set to stay, but the situation has changed according to the latest indiscretions from TZ Indeed, the German club would have changed its mind following the contractual situation of Leroy Sané.

Leroy Sané estimated at €70M

Under contract until June 2025, the 28-year-old German winger is one year away from the end of his lease. A critical situation for Bayern Munich, who must sell him this summer or extend his contract under penalty of losing him next summer. Previously willing to continue with the Essen native, Bayern Munich would ultimately like to obtain a nice check for the player who arrived for 49 million from Manchester City in July 2020. The Bavarian management considers that the arrival of Michael Olise has made it possible to obtain a profile close to that of Leroy Sané and that the latter would no longer be as indispensable. The Bavarians intend to take advantage of his market value estimated at 70 million euros to get the best possible price. The German media also explains that Nico Williams (Athletic Bilbao) is considered a potential replacement.

However, it will not be easy for Bayern Munich to achieve this. While the 2023-2024 season is statistically satisfactory for Leroy Sané with 10 goals and 13 assists in 42 matches, he mostly walked on water in the first half of the season before collapsing in the second half of the season. Part of the cause was a groin injury that he dragged around and did not treat before Euro 2024 where he also disappointed. Finally having to undergo surgery, he attracted the wrath of some managers who did not want to see him participate in Euro 2024 in the state he was in. The break between Leroy Sané and Bayern Munich has never seemed so close.
